HRS Dentalcare is pleased to announce that they are one of a few practices in the UK able to offer state of the art crowns while you wait – known within dentistry as CEREC crowns.

One of the major problems with carrying out traditional crown procedures is the need for putty impressions to be taken of the teeth. Nobody likes impressions but many people will tolerate them as this is the only method most dentists can use.

With CEREC there are no messy, uncomfortable impressions taken; instead a digital image is taken using a special camera. This image is then converted into a 3D computerised model of your tooth, which is used as a guide to design your new crown. Once we are happy with the newly designed crown, this data is sent to our onsite milling machine, which makes your new crown from a high-quality porcelain ceramic block. The milling process can take from as little as 10 minutes depending on the complexity of the tooth.

The porcelain crown colour will be selected to match your surrounding teeth. Once the crown or veneer has been milled, your new crown will then be cemented into place – all in one appointment!
