Gloucestershire based cosmetic dentist, Dr Neil Harris, has just introduced a revolutionary new teeth brace system into the county at his practice, HRS Dentalcare in Stonehouse.

The new cosmetic brace concentrates on people’s smiles, which means that the average treatment time for patients is 6 months rather than the 2-3 years it can take with traditional braces.

Dr Harris said “Six Month Smiles is a new type of brace system that uses modern, tooth coloured components to straighten teeth, with treatment times taking between 4 and 9 months. Because we are concentrating on just the smile it means that treatment times are reduced to an average of 6 months, though it is not uncommon for some cases to be finished in less than that.”

Dr Harris has just been through intensive training in the Six Month Smiles system, and is the first dentist in Gloucestershire to be certified by the New York based company to provide the braces.

Dr Harris, who is a Director for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, is very excited about the treatment. “This brace allows adult patients to have braces for a very short period of time and make huge improvements to their smile, even in the most difficult cases. With many people missing out on orthodontics when they were younger this is now a great way for them to take pride in their smile. Until recently the main option for getting a nice smile quickly was to have teeth filed down and veneers placed. Now there is a much better option that moves natural teeth into a much better position quickly and without the need for drilling.”
